| The Public Works Department is committed to providing the best possible water service to our customers. Our water consistently meets all federal and state standards and our Water Treatment operators are skilled and licensed through the State of Ohio. The Streets and Water Department is continually working with a leak detection contractor to reduce the amount of wasted water. This water is treated at the plant, but unaccounted for in the distribution system, and ultimately in the billing end. A comprehensive program of on-going investigation and preventative maintenance maximizes system performance and is more economical than expensive and inconvenient emergency repairs. The Streets and Water Maintenance Division is responsible for both scheduled preventative maintenance and emergency repairs to the City's water mains. The Fire Department also assists in fire hydrant flushing both to measure water flow for fire fighting and "flush" dead end lines that otherwise may not circulate water often enough to keep the line clean. | |
