Safety Service


Trees

  Trees located between the street and sidewalk are City trees. If residents have a concern about the trees, they should report it to the Safety/Service Director or on the Action Line.

Permits

  Permits are required for the following:
 
    Garage Sales
      Residents may hold up to four (4) garage sales per year.
      Sales can be no longer than four (4) days and must be held at least 30 days apart.
      No cost for permit.
      Please return the permit to City Hall for processing.
 
    Block / Parade Permits
      Required for any function requesting use of City Streets.
      Must be requested at least five (5) days prior to event.
      No cost for permit.
 
    Door to Door Solicitation
      Proof of Identity is required.
      Applicant must provide a current BCI & I background check.
      Permit expires six months from date of issue.
      Permit fee of $ 18.00
      These permits are available in the Safety/Service Director's Office at City Hall.


Parking

  Free parking is available on the uptown streets. Signs are posted with time limitations. Parking is limited to a maximum of two (2) hours. On-Street parking is not permitted in town during the hours of 3:00 a.m. till 6:00 a.m. There are four (4) parking lots located in the downtown area that offer free parking.
  Parking tickets may be paid in the Utility Billing office at City Hall during regular business office hours. For information, please call (419) 663-6740.
