How do I start Water Service?
  Property owners are responsible for water service including rental property. Owners may come in to City Hall located at 38 Whittlesey Avenue to sign for water service or may call (419) 663-6740 to request service but must sign within 5 days from the start of service for water service to continue. Proper identification is required such as a driver’s license number and date of birth.
How do I stop Water Service?
  Requests for disconnection or final readings will only be taken from property owners at the Utility Billing Office at City Hall, 38 Whittlesey Avenue and require the signature of the property owner. At least one business day notice before the desired readout date is necessary.
Is there a minimum month charge?
  Yes. For usage of 0-1 thousand gallons the minimum charge is $1.60 for water and $1.95 for sewer. The minimum charge for water service provided by the City of Norwalk outside city limits is 0-1 thousand gallons is $3.20 for water and $1.95 for sewer.
Where can I pay my bill?
  1. At City Hall located at 38 Whittlesey Avenue
    Or you may use the night drop box located at the front of the City Hall Building
    Or the drive by drop box located in front of the Police Department accessible from entering the municipal parking lot next to the Fire Station from the Whittlesey Avenue entrance.
  2. Postal mail.
  3. Certain businesses accept current amounts due (not past due amounts). At this time those businesses are:
    Schild’s IGA located at 171 Milan Avenue
    Gardner’s Super Valu located at 117 Whittlesey Avenue
How can I pay my bill?
  We accept cash, money order, personal check as well as Visa, MasterCard, Discover Card or American Express. We also can do an automated repetitive withdrawal from you bank account each month. To obtain a form for this free service, click on the form entitled “Automated Payment Form” on this webpage or stop in City Hall to complete the form
Can I view my bill online or receive an e-bill?
 
Water and sewer bills may be viewed on-line along with the ability to receive the bill via email, eliminating a paper bill. When registering for this service, your water/sewer account number, located in the upper right hand corner of your bill is needed.

To continue to receive a paper bill and also view on-line, leave the Statement Preference at "Mail" when registering.
To receive your bill via email and eliminate the paper bill, change the Statement Preference to "E-Mail" when registering.
