Water and Utility Billing Department

The City of Norwalk owns and operates the municipal water system and the
wastewater treatment facilities. |
|
|
City residents and businesses are billed monthly for water and sewer services. |
|
|
Water service is required to be placed in the property owner's name. Property owners
are responsible for service and charges. |
|
General Information

|
• Apply for water service at the Utility Billing Office, City Hall, (419) 663-6740 |
|
|
• 24-hour notification required for changes in water service |
|
|
• Utility bills are due on or about the 19th of the month |
|
|
• Payment not received by the due date is subject to a 10 % penalty and/or disconnect |
|
|
• $ 50 non-refundable turn-on charge is required for service to be reinstated in addition to
payment of past due amounts |

• Payments can be made by Visa, MasterCard, Discover Card, American Express, Cash, Check,
or Money Order |
|
|
• Payments can be made at City Hall, Schild's IGA, Gardner's SuperValu, or in one of the
City's night deposit boxes - located on the front of City Hall and at the front of the
Police Department. |

|
• Automated payment is available.
To receive this free service, return the completed
Automated Payment Form
to City Hall with a voided check for processing. Payment is
deducted on the 15th of each month. |

Bill Information |
|
|
• Water and sewer bills are mailed on approximately the
5th of each month and are due on the 19th of each month. If
the 19th is a Saturday, the due date is the 18th, if the
19th is a Sunday, the due date is the 20th. |

• Water and sewer bills may be viewed on-line along with
the ability to receive the bill via email, eliminating a
paper bill. When registering for this service, your
water/sewer account number, located in the upper right hand corner
of your bill is needed. |

|
• To continue to receive a paper bill and also view
on-line, leave the Statement Preference at "Mail" when
registering.

To receive your bill via email and eliminate the paper bill,
change the Statement Preference to "E-Mail" when
registering.
