Education
Education is important in the City of Norwalk. We offer many and varied educational opportunities for our residents for lifelong education. We have two outstanding kindergarten through grade 12 local schools - one public system and one parochial system. The City is also within easy driving distance of many opportunities for higher education and lifelong learning.
Approximately 2,900 students are enrolled in the Norwalk City School District. The school district's three elementary schools - League, Pleasant, and Maplehurst - house preschool through grade four. The Main Street School houses students in grades five and six. The Junior High houses grades seven and eight, while the high school contains grades nine though twelve. The area career-technical center, EHOVE Career Career, provides programs for approximately 80 Norwalk junior and senior students each year and is located in Erie County, 6 miles from Norwalk.
