The City of Norwalk will hold a free household hazardous waste collection on Saturday, September 20, 2008 from 8 a.m. to noon. The collection will be held at the Huron County Administration Building, 180 Milan Avenue in Norwalk. Residents will be able to bring in their hazardous waste materials to the parking lot, where workers will unload and sort the items. Proof of residency will be required at the drop-off. This collection is for households only, no commercial drop-offs will be accepted. Below is a list of items that can be collected. TO ENSURE SAFETY, PLEASE: ¨ Tighten caps and lids leaving materials in original labeled containers ¨ Pack containers in sturdy upright boxes and pad with newspaper ¨ Sort and pack separately – paint, pesticides, household cleaners ¨ NEVER MIX CHEMICALS! ¨ Pack your vehicle and go directly to the site ¨ NEVER SMOKE while handling hazardous materials ¨ DO NOT PLACE WASTE IN A GARBAGE BAG
