Wastewater Department

Water used by the city’s residents, businesses
and industry is collected by
a network of piping, and transported with the aid of several pump stations
to the City of Norwalk’s Wastewater Plant on Plank Road. The facility
operates 24 hours a day, every day of the year, using a series of chemical
and physical processes that ensure water is returned to the environment in a
suitable condition. Our Industrial Pretreatment Department regulates the
wastewater discharge from factories in the city, acting as another safeguard
to the environment.
