Mayor's Message

Welcome to the City of Norwalk Website.
Thank you for your interest in our community. As you navigate the pages of this
site, you will feel the small town charm and innovative growth of our city. Our
Mission Statement identifies the priorities we have set:
|
Mission Statement
The Norwalk area is a community that is committed to preserving
its rich heritage and fulfilling quality of life while fostering
planned growth.
THANK YOU CITIZENS
I am privileged to serve you as
Mayor and take pride with you in the qualities that make our
community so special:
 |
We are a community of neighbors,
gathering on front porches to share news at the end of the day.
|
 |
We care about one another,
especially our families, as we provide a wide variety of
educational and recreational opportunities for our children.

 |
We value the contributions of
our senior citizens, and offer outstanding senior services and
living options.
|
 |
We have a deep respect for our
rich heritage and traditions, as seen in the beautifully
renovated century homes and revitalized central business
district.
|
 |
We build on a long tradition of
innovation in Norwalk, honoring our long-time businesses and
welcoming new entrepreneurs.
|
 |
We are a full-service city,
offering many city services ranging from outstanding safety
forces to curbside recycling to state-of-the- art recreational
facilities. |
|
WELCOME NEWCOMERS
To both residential and business newcomers, we
are a city poised to grow. We have an ideal location, central to the Toledo and
Cleveland metropolitan areas and only a few miles south of the Ohio Turnpike and
Lake Erie.
We are business friendly, offering extensive
economic development assistance (see our
Development section), as well as
an employee base with a strong work ethic. Our community is a place where
employees want to live and work. The City of Norwalk is currently undergoing an
extensive planning process to address our growth. Our vision statement points
the direction for the next 20 years:
|
Vision Statement
Our community will create a safe, family
friendly environment in which we will preserve our natural resources and
our strong neighborhoods, while promoting business growth,
intergenerational opportunities, and proactive responses to future challenges,
both locally and in a global economy.
